Indian pacer Akash Deep recently shared an unforgettable experience with cricket superstar Virat Kohli. Ahead of the Bangladesh Test series, the former Indian skipper surprised Akash with an unexpected gift—his own bat.

This generous gesture left the young cricketer overwhelmed and grateful, a moment he will cherish forever. In a candid interview with the Times of India, Akash narrated how he came to possess this special bat from the legend himself.

The memorable moment unfolded just before the first Test between India and Bangladesh in Chennai. While relaxing in his hotel room, Akash was stunned when Kohli knocked on his door and asked him a simple yet surprising question. ,“Bat chaiye kya tujhe?”. Akash was momentarily speechless, unable to believe that the cricket legend was offering him his own bat.

“He (Virat Kohli) came to me and asked, ‘Bat chaiye kya tujhe?’ Who wouldn’t want a bat from Virat bhaiya? He is a legend. I was very happy to hear his words and wanted that bat. He asked me what kind of bat I use while batting, and I just smiled—I didn’t have words. Then he said, ‘Yeh le, rakh le yeh bat.’ I will never play with that bat; it is a big gift from Virat bhaiya, and I will keep it as a souvenir on the wall of my room,”  Akash stated.
