Dhawan Backs Rohit and Team for T20 World Cup 2024

Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit's former opening partner and close friend, expressed his confidence in the team. The bond between Rohit and Dhawan is well-known, with the pair being one of the best opening duos in cricket history.

Dhawan, currently sidelined due to a shoulder injury that kept him out for most of the IPL 2024 season, shared his thoughts on India's prospects.

 "All bases have been covered. The team looks balanced and India has got a very good chance (of winning the title)," he said.

He emphasized the positive atmosphere under Rohit's leadership, stating,

 "Rohit is a seasoned captain and the boys are very happy and comfortable around him. We have got a very good and experienced side with amazing youngsters and we have a very good chance to win the World Cup."

Despite his own team's struggles in the IPL, with Punjab Kings failing to make the playoffs for the 10th consecutive year, Dhawan remains optimistic about India's chances on the international stage. Dhawan last played for India against Bangladesh in Chattogram on December 10, 2022.

India's journey in the T20 World Cup 2024 will begin with their first match against Ireland on June 5 in New York. Under Rohit Sharma's leadership, the team is poised to make a strong bid for the title, buoyed by a balanced squad and the confidence of seasoned players like Shikhar Dhawan.
