In the 16th match of the 14th IPL season in 2021, a memorable incident involving Virat Kohli took place. 

The match was between Royal Challengers Bangalore (Royal Challengers Bengaluru now) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

On the day of the match, Bangalore's captain, Virat Kohli, won the toss. Kohli flipped the coin in the air, and Sanju Samson called tails.

When the coin landed, it showed heads, meaning Kohli had won the toss. However, in a humorous twist, Kohli mistakenly congratulated Rajasthan's captain, Sanju Samson, patting him on the shoulders and stepping back to let him speak. Sanju began to move forward, ready to make a decision.

It was only when presenter Ian Bishop looked at Kohli and asked him what his decision was that Kohli realized he had actually won the toss. Laughing at the mix-up, Kohli quickly apologized and announced that RCB would field first. He humorously admitted, "I'm not used to winning tosses."

This light-hearted moment had everyone laughing, including Virat, Sanju, and Ian Bishop. The mix-up became an instant hit on social media, shared widely by cricket fans.

Fast forward to the present, Virat Kohli is no longer the captain of RCB. He will be seen playing next against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday,18th May, at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

This match is a do-or-die situation for both teams as the winner will qualify for the IPL 2024 play-offs.
