The official statement of RCB regarding the tragic event read, "We are deeply anguished by the unfortunate incidents that have come to light through media reports regarding public gatherings all over Bengaluru in anticipation of the team’s arrival this afternoon. The safety and well-being of everyone is of utmost importance to us. RCB mourns the tragic loss of lives and extends our heartfelt condolences to the affected families.”

Notably, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and IPL chairman Arun Dhumal responded to the event stating that the BCCI has no accountability whatsoever for the Bengaluru stampede as they regulate proceedings till the IPL.

Devajit Saikia stated that the BCCI stated it has no role after the IPL final and presentation, and franchises like RCB don’t need its permission for celebrations. However, such events should be properly coordinated with local authorities to avoid any issues.

According to Arun Dhumal, the BCCI and RCB were unaware of any planned celebrations in Bengaluru, and added that the state government and local authorities would likely review the incident.
