In a significant development, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a formidable squad for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. Led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, the Tigers will cross swords against the Lankans in a two-match series this month, marking their first assignment of the upcoming World Test Championship cycle.

Litton, Nahid, Ebadot Return; Joy And Tanzim Miss Out

The comeback of veteran keeper-batter Litton Das and fast bowlers Ebadot Hossain and Nahid Rana is a key highlight of Bangladesh's squad for the Sri Lanka Tests.

Hailed for his scintillating stroke play, Litton played his last Test against West Indies at Kingston back in December 2024.

In 48 Test matches, the stylish right-handed batter has amassed 2788 runs, including four centuries and 17 half-centuries, at an average of 34.

Meanwhile, Ebadot, who featured in a Test way back in 2023, has earned a recall into the red-ball setup after a long hiatus. In 20 Tests, the right-arm speedster has bagged 42 wickets at an average of 47.1. He was one of the chief architects of Bangladesh's famous Test win over New Zealand at Bay Oval in January 2022.

On a similar note, ace speedster Nahid Rana has been included in the squad after missing out on the second Test against Zimbabwe at home. Meanwhile, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who could scalp a single wicket at an economy of almost five runs per over against Zimbabwe, has been excluded from the side.

The first Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka starts in Galle on June 17, while the deciding affair will be played in Colombo from June 25.
