The first Ashes 2023 Test between England and Australia, is hanging in the balance after rain interrupted play on Day 3, with the hosts precariously placed at 28 for 2 in their second innings with a lead of 35. Australia managed to put up 386 on the board, thanks to a monumental knock of Usman Khawaja, who scored 141 off 321 balls.

A high-voltage encounter did produce sparks on Day 3 as Ollie Robinson, who castled Khawaja for 141, ended up the hurling cuss word in celebration during his send-off to the left-handed opener.

Speaking in the presser, Robinson sounded apologetic for his celebration and explained that it was in the heat of the moment. As per Telegraph, the pacer maintained that aggression is part of the Ashes, and he will continue to do so.

Here's what Robinson said

“I don’t really care how it’s perceived to be honest. It’s the Ashes, it’s professional sport. If you can’t handle that, what can you handle?

No it’s not, but when you’re in the heat of the moment and have the passion of the Ashes that can happen. We’ve all seen Ricky Ponting and other Aussies do that to us so just because the shoe’s on the other foot, it’s not received well.”

The 29-year-old claimed three wickets in 55 overs, which includes the wickets of Khawaja, skipper Pat Cummins, and Nathan Lyon.  Australia's wicket-keeper batter Alex Carey confirmed that neither Khawaja nor the team were upset about Robinson's send-off.

With Ollie Pope and Joe Root batting in the middle for the Three Lions, the home side will look to avoid early wickets on Day 4 and look to play their 'BazBall' brand of cricket.
