Despite the match not holding any value, India went onto script history as Abhishek Sharma's heroics with the bat and ball helped the hosts register their best win over England in T20I history. Notably, the hosts, batting first, put 247 runs on the board as Abhishek Sharma smashed a 37-ball hundred.

Further, he also took two wickets with the ball and won the player of the match award. In the latest event, Sharma has finally broken his silence on his famous 'L' celebration that he does after the reaching a fifty or a century.
Abhishek revealed that the 'L' sign he makes signifies 'Love'. Further, he thanked Gautam Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav for the consistent support.

Abhishek further credited Yuvraj Singh behind his success and believing in him when things weren't going in his favour.
“Yuvi Paaji (Yuvraj Singh) was the one who put all these things in my mind three-four years back. He was the one who believed in me, I would say," Abhishek said in the post-match press conference.
"Obviously, when someone like Yuvraj Singh is telling you that you are going to play for the country and you’re going to win the matches. You obviously yourself try to think all these things that okay ‘I will play for India and I will do my best’,” he further added.
