When Abhishek Sharma walked out to bat at Wankhede, he had one thing on his mind—destruction. The young southpaw went absolutely berserk, hammering a 17-ball fifty, the second-fastest for India in T20Is.

IND vs ENG: Abhishek Sharma Turns Wankhede into a Graveyard for England’s Bowlers

But that wasn’t the only record he helped break. India raced to 100 in just 6.3 overs, their fastest-ever century in terms of balls faced.

The previous record? 7.1 overs against Bangladesh last October. That day, it was Sanju Samson who tore apart the bowlers on his way to a stunning century. This time, it was Abhishek’s turn to set the stage on fire. And he didn’t disappoint.

Right from the get-go, Abhishek meant business. He laid into Jofra Archer in the third over, smashing him for 18 runs, making it clear that England were in for a long night.

But Archer wasn’t the only one in the firing line: Mark Wood, Jamie Overton, Liam Livingstone, Brydon Carse, and Adil Rashid all took a beating as Abhishek kept sending the ball into the stands.

Every bowler who came into the attack had the same fate. It was a proper hammering—clean hits, effortless sixes, and absolute domination. England’s fielders were left chasing leather while Abhishek toyed with their attack.

India Break Their Own 100-Run Record

Before today, India’s fastest 100 in T20Is had come against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. That day, Sanju Samson’s fireworks led India to their highest-ever T20I total—297/6. But tonight, Abhishek was in a league of his own.

With him leading the charge, India stormed past 100 in just 6.3 overs, smashing their own record. Wankhede was buzzing, the crowd was roaring, and the English bowlers had no answers.

IND vs ENG Live Score: How Far Can India Go?

At the time of writing, India has reached 143/2 after 10 overs, with Abhishek batting on 99 off just 36 balls. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav has just joined him at the crease, and with both of them capable of turning up the heat, India’s highest-ever total of 297/6 could be in danger.

Will they break that record too? Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure—this Indian team isn’t taking their foot off the gas anytime soon.
