The fans were all eagerly waiting for the BCCI to announce the team for the upcoming India tour of South Africa. While all the attention was on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's names, there are some exemplary youngsters, who have made the cut to face the Proteas, and Sai Sudharsan is one of them. 

After performing admirably well in the IPL, Emerging Asia Cup 2023 and Domestic cricket, Sai Sudharsan has finally caught the eyes of the selectors and has made it to the ODI squad of India for the South Africa tour. As a few senior players are being rested for the ODIs, it is a great opportunity for players like Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, and Rinku Singh. Sai is also a part of the India A squad and will be playing three four-day games in South Africa as well.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who has been really active on his social media lately, has posted a tweet congratulating Sai Sudharsan for this amazing feat. Sai is nothing short of an elegant batter with abilities to smash maximums as well. Even in the IPL final, he went on to score 96 off just 47 deliveries, which shows his temperament and ability to play under pressure.

Being from the same state, Ravichandran expresses his excitement to watch him play at the greatest stage of the cricket world and also appreciates the BCCI for picking guys like him. Sai recently smashed a century in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy and also smashed a century against the Pakistan A team during the Emerging Teams Asia Cup. 

Sai being a left-handed top-order batter, has a bright future in this Indian cricket team going forward, as he has the skill set to be an all-format player for a long time.
