Ben Cutting may not be a household name in Australia, but in India, especially among Royal Challengers Bengaluru fans, he’s etched in memory forever. He helped SRH win the 2016 IPL finals against RCB, and fans still ask him to play against the reds.

On May 29, 2016, Cutting played a performance for the ages in the IPL final, as Sunrisers Hyderabad won their first, and sole, title. His all-round excellence made him an overnight cult hero.

Coming in at a tricky moment with SRH at 147/4, Cutting smashed an unbeaten 39 off just 15 balls and pushed SRH to a total of 208.

Then, with the ball, he dismissed the dangerous Chris Gayle and KL Rahul, finishing with figures of 2/35. His performance saw him receive the Player of the Match award and left RCB fans disappointed.

Ben Cutting Rubs Salt On RCB’s Wounds

Despite the unforgettable final, Ben Cutting never became a regular in the IPL, playing just 21 matches across 8 seasons. Injuries later ended his bowling career, and today, he has moved into the real estate business.

However, this year, Cutting, talking to ESPN Cricinfo, revealed that he has been receiving 150 text messages everyday on his Instagram handle to join a rival of RCB as an injury replacement.

"If I load up my private messages on Instagram now, there'll be 150 every day saying, 'Can you make yourself available for the IPL as a replacement player?' for any team that's coming up against RCB," Cutting said.

Earlier, the Aussie also said that the final against RCB was one of his biggest career highlights. However, for Bengaluru fans, he remains nothing but a nightmare.

RCB vs SRH IPL 2025 Clash Moved To Lucknow Due To Rain

The upcoming IPL 2025 match between RCB and SRH, originally set for May 23 in Bengaluru, has been shifted to Lucknow because of continuous rain and flooding. RCB lost a crucial home game as bad weather persisted in Karnataka. The Chinnaswamy Stadium has already seen match cancellations. SRH will stay in Lucknow after their win over LSG, while RCB prepares for the playoffs from their new temporary base
