On the inaugural day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, Vaibhav Suryavanshi notched up a 36-ball hundred. In the highly talked-about 50-over competition, the Bihar batter became the youngest player to score a hundred in List A at 14 years old.
Interestingly, his first non-T20 century broke the 39-year-old record of Pakistan’s Zahoor Elahi. The teenage sensation in Bihar vs Arunachal Pradesh at the JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi scripted the record on Wednesday.

4) Usman Tariq - 16 years and 91 days, 2000
In the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy first-class match in Rawalpindi, 2000-01, Usman Tariq scored a century for Islamabad against Gujranwala. At just 16 years and 91 days, Tariq's innings puts him in the fourth place in this tally.
3) Riaz Hassan - 16 years and 9 days, 2018
Afghanistan batter Riaz Hassan is in third place in the list of the youngest players to score a hundred in List A. At 16 years and 9 days, Hassan in the Boost vs Band-Region match claimed the record.
2) Zahoor Elahi - 15 years and 209 days, 1986
Pakistan’s Zahoor Elahi was 15 years and 209 days old when he made the record while playing for Pakistan Automobiles against Railways in the Wills Cup in 1986. However, India's Vaibhav has now toppled him by achieving the feat at the age of 14 years and 272 days.
