14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi once again stunned the world with an outstanding performance in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy match between Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh, played at the JSCA Oval in Ranchi on December 24.

Batting with confidence far beyond his age, Vaibhav smashed a sensational century in just 36 balls, making it the second-fastest hundred by an Indian in List A cricket history.

After Bihar won the toss and chose to bat first, Vaibhav opened the innings alongside Mangal Mahrour. Right from the start, the young batter took full advantage of the fielding restrictions and played fearless cricket.

He attacked the bowlers with clean hitting and smart shot selection, while Mahrour supported him by rotating the strike.

Together, the pair built a massive opening partnership of 158 runs in just 14.3 overs, putting Bihar firmly in control of the match.

Notably, Vaibhav Suryavanshi reached his half-century in only 25 balls and showed no signs of slowing down. He brought up his century off 36 deliveries, sending the ball to all parts of the ground.

Mahrour was eventually dismissed for 33 runs off 43 balls, but Vaibhav continued his aggressive approach, completely dominating the Arunachal Pradesh bowlers.

With this knock, Vaibhav narrowly missed breaking the Indian record for the fastest List A century, which stands at 35 balls by Anmolpreet Singh. Still, his achievement is remarkable, especially considering his age.

This was also his third century in December, highlighting his incredible form. Earlier in the month, he scored an unbeaten 108 against Maharashtra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and a stunning 171 off 95 balls in the Under-19 Asia Cup opener against UAE.

Although he struggled in key matches against Pakistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup, this innings showed his ability to bounce back strongly. This was only Vaibhav’s seventh List A match, having scored 132 runs in six matches last season.

Vaibhav finished his knock at 190 runs off 84 balls, including 16 fours and 15 sixes.
