The Hundred 2025 Men’s competition kicked off with fireworks and not the good kind if you are a London Spirit fan. The defending champions Oval Invincibles turned up with swagger and blew Spirit away for a paltry 80 runs, setting up a smooth chase for a third straight title.

With Rashid Khan spinning webs on debut and Sam Curran running riot, Spirit looked like deer caught in headlights. Honestly, it wasn’t a contest, it was a demolition job.

Now with that horror show fresh in memory, let’s take a look at the top five lowest team totals in the history of The Hundred Men’s competition.

5. Manchester Originals: 86/8 vs Welsh Fire (2024)

Talk about a no-show at Old Trafford! In 2024, Manchester Originals looked anything but original with the bat. Welsh Fire’s bowling trio of David Willey, Josh Little and David Payne turned the screws and the Originals crawled to 86/8 in 100 balls.

Only Scott Currie stood tall with a gritty 26*, while the rest fell like ninepins. Fire chased it down with 43 balls to spare and secured an easy eight wicket win.

4. Northern Superchargers: 83 vs Manchester Originals (2023)

Northern Superchargers were steamrolled at Old Trafford in 2023, managing just 83 runs in reply to Manchester Originals’ 164. Jos Buttler had earlier lit up the stage with a blazing 75 off 47. But it was leggie Calvin Harrison who spun a web, finishing with astonishing figures of 5 for 11.

Adam Lyth went for 1, Harry Brook was knocked over for 2 and Adam Hose’s 15 the highest score. The Superchargers' batters had no answers. Josh Tongue and Tom Hartley chipped in with two wickets each while Jamie Overton broke the spine up top. Originals won by a mammoth 81 runs.

3. Northern Superchargers: 83 vs Birmingham Phoenix (2024)

The Superchargers short-circuited big time in this one. Facing Birmingham Phoenix, the men in purple folded for 83 in just 96 balls. Tim Southee, the old warhorse, rolled back the years with a spell of 3/15, and Milne (3/20) joined the party too.

With Ben Duckett (43* off 20) and Moeen Ali (37* off 21) going full throttle in the chase, Phoenix knocked off the target in just 39 balls with 10 wickets to spare.

2. London Spirit: 80 vs Oval Invincibles (2025)

Fresh from the memory books, this one takes the silver medal. The 2025 opener was supposed to be a cracker, but London Spirit fizzled out before the fireworks began. David Warner, captain Kane Williamson and Keaton Jennings all flopped.

Rashid Khan announced himself with 3/11 and three catches, talk about a dream debut! Sam Curran also snagged two while Jordan Clark bagged two as Spirit were bundled for 80 in 94 balls. The Invincibles strolled home in just 69 balls with six wickets to spare.

1. Birmingham Phoenix: 75 vs Manchester Originals (2022)

And here comes the ultimate collapse. Back in 2022, Birmingham Phoenix were humbled by Manchester Originals at Edgbaston in brutal fashion. Originals posted 154/6 on the back of Phil Salt’s 56 and Tom Lammonby’s late flourish (26* off 12). In reply, Birmingham’s top order looked like they were batting on a minefield.

Tom Hartley was the wrecker-in-chief, grabbing 4 for 22. Will Smeed was the only one to cross 30. Wickets fell in a heap as they collapsed to 75 all out in just 74 balls. Originals walked off with a 79-run win and Phoenix had no place to hide.
