Pakistan is gearing up to host the upcoming prestigious ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at their three venues: Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. Therefore, to demonstrate the quality of their grounds, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to hold the ongoing tri-series between Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand at their two renovated stadiums in Lahore and Karachi.

Now, the ongoing tri-series between the three sides has seen three solid matches so far, where New Zealand have prevailed in two of them, resulting in their direct qualification for the finals. Whereas later, both South Africa and Pakistan battled it out at the newly renovated National Stadium in Karachi, where the hosts progressed to face the Kiwis in the finals.

In this game, South Africa opted to bat first and, with the help of their top order, managed to put up a mammoth total of 352 on the board. Surprisingly, this turned out to be the fifth-highest total at this venue. Therefore, let's find out what the top five highest totals are at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Highest Team Total In ODIs At National Stadium, Karachi:

5) 352/5 by South Africa vs Pakistan, 2025

The recently concluded match between South Africa and Pakistan in the tri-nation series holds the fifth position on this list. The visiting South African side put up 352 after the end of their quota of overs with five wickets down. Courtesy of Skipper Temba Bavuma's 82, Matthew Breetzke's 83, and Heinrich Klassen's 87-run knock that pushed the Proteas side to a gigantic total. Kyle Verreynne also played a fine hand of 44 to help his side attain this total. The pitch proved to be an absolute belter of a track with runs flowing at every juncture of the game.

4) 353/6 by Pakistan vs England, 2005

The third ODI of the 2005 Pakistan-England bilateral ODI series turned out to be a massive scoring ground for the hosts. Pakistan thrashed 353 runs in the first innings after losing six wickets, courtesy of their opener Kamran Akmal's brilliant 109, which was very well supported by Mohammad Yousuf's 68 and Abdul Razzaq's 51. Also, Inzamam-ul-Haq was decent enough with his 45, as in the end, Pakistan won the game by an enormous margin of 165 runs, whereas England could not get past 188.

3) 355/4 by Pakistan vs South Africa, 2025

Well, the 3rd ODI of the tri-series 2025 between Pakistan and South Africa again made it to the list, with the hosts returning strong in the second innings as they chased down the mammoth total set by the Proteas. After South Africa reached 352 by the end of their innings, it seemed quite a task for the Mohammad Rizwan-led side to even get near to that total.

However, they came back strong in the second innings, thanks to superlative efforts from skipper Rizwan and Salman Agha, who scored 122* and 134, respectively, to stitch an unbelievable 260-run partnership for the fourth wicket. This partnership helped Pakistan to put up the record total of 355 on the board as they aced the chase by four wickets.

2) 360/4 by West Indies vs Sri Lanka, 1987

The second-highest score on this venue was scored by the strong West Indian side during the World Cup in 1987 when they faced Sri Lanka. Thanks to Sir Vivian Richards' 181 and opener Desmond Haynes' 105, West Indies were able to wreak havoc with 360 runs on the board as they lost just four wickets. And in return, Sri Lanka looked like minnows as they could only reach 169 for the loss of four wickets in their quota of 50 overs, where the Caribbean side earned a colossal victory by 191 runs at Karachi.

1) 374/4 by India vs Hong Kong, 2008

The record for the highest score at this venue goes to India for piling up a record total of 374 runs against the Hong Kong side in the Asia Cup 2008 that took place in Pakistan. The fourth match of this multi-national tournament saw former Indian skipper MS Dhoni scoring an outstanding 109 not out, which was very well complemented by left-handed Suresh Raina with his 101, while openers Virender Sehwag's 78 and Gautam Gambhir's 51 proved more than enough for the Men in Blue.

As for Hong Kong, 374 was always going to be an impossible task for them, considering they could only put up 118 on the tally after getting bowled out inside the 37th over. Hence, the eventual runners-up were handed a monumental win by an immense gap of 256 runs.
