'Batters win you games but bowlers win you tournament' - This old saying in cricket speaks a lot about the importance of bowlers and the kind of impact they make on the result of the game. We have seen that batters take the limelight mostly in cricket but there are some bowlers in world cricket who are life and soul of their teams and are just irreplaceable.

So, let us now look at the list of top 10 bowlers in the world in the year 2023 (Not in any specific order)

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah came into the limelight as the gun T20 bowler.  However, soon he emerged as India's key weapon across formats and delivered some memorable performances. His performances in Test cricket in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia) countries has put him in the elite list of the bowlers and though injuries have hampered his progress a bit, he has all the skills to become the legend of the game.

Kagiso Rabada

The big man from South Africa emerged in the international scene as a man with truckloads of talent. His raw pace combined with great accuracy and ability to move the ball made him an international star straightaway and soon the young man was provided with the responsibility of leading the pace attack. He is a well-known name in international cricket now and is surely one of the leading bowlers in world cricket right now.

Nathan Lyon

The offie from Australia is a legend of the game. He has taken close to 500 wickets in Test cricket and the fact that he has taken most of his wickets in Australia, makes him even more special. He has won Australia plenty of games in all conditions and is arguably the best spinner in the world currently along with Ravi Ashwin.

Trent Boult

The left-arm pacer is a genuine match-winner across formats. The man has over 300 wickets in Test cricket while he has won plenty of games for New Zealand in ODI and T20 format as well. He is now a regular in franchise cricket as well and is a marquee overseas bowler. His ability to swing the new ball with his left-arm angle makes him a lethal bowler and he is pretty good at the death as well. These qualities makes him one of the best bowlers in world cricket currently.

James Anderson

Jimmy is one the greatest Test cricketer ever to play the game. Fast bowlers are known to be injury-prone and playing 100 Test matches is considered as quite an achievement for a pacer. However, Anderson has played 179 Test matches and is just 15 wickets away from becoming the first fast bowler to pick 700 Test wickets. He was quite a handy bowler in white-ball cricket too in his earlier days, but now is a flag-bearer of Test cricket.

Pat Cummins

The Australian bursted on the international scene as a 19-year old and showed his class straightaway against a quality Proteas batting line-up. However, he was laid low by injuries for almost 6 years after that. The speedster though made a stellar comeback after that and from 2017, he has been Australia's best bowler, especially in Test cricket. He is now the Test and ODI skipper of Australia, which speaks a lot about the class of the man.

Anrich Nortje

He is a genuine speedster and can fire bullets at over 150 kph regularly. He has delivered some impact performances for both South Africa and Delhi Capitals in IPL and he is a bowler that every teams wants in their team. The ability to run through the batting line-up on the pitches that has not much to offer for the bowlers with his raw pace makes him a special talent.

Ravi Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin has taken the mantle of leading India's bowling attack in Test cricket in home conditions for over a decade now. He has picked 474 wickets in just 92 Tests and has emerged as India's biggest match-winner in Test cricket in home conditions. His change of pace and variations have bamboozled best of the batters in world cricket. His record in white-ball format is also quite good and he is still going strong in IPL. he is surely one of the best spinners in world cricket right now.

Shaheen Afridi

Pakistan's premier bowler is one of the most complete bowlers in world cricket right now. His ability to swing the new ball is second to none and in the death too he can nail those yorkers consistently. He has the ability to bowl long spells and make things happen on the flat decks in Pakistan as well and surely he is one of the best bowlers in world cricket currently.

Mitchell Starc

Starc is the x-factor for Australia. The left-arm pacer swings the ball at a brisk pace and can just run through the batting line-ups on his day. He plays across formats for Australia and is a genuine match-winner. He is lethal with his yorkers and there are very few who can match his death-bowling skills.
