Rinku Singh has been the talk of the town in IPL 2023 with his finishing antics and once again, in the game against PBKS at Eden Gardens, he has taken his team over the line in a tense chase. However, it was also the game where Andre Russell finally unleashed his powers and smashed 42 off 23 balls to play a big role in his side's thrilling win.

Russell won the player of the match award for his game-changing hitting and spoke at length about his plans in the run-chase and on the new KKR star - Rinku Singh. He said that they just tried to stay in the middle and  backed themselves to get 30 in the final two overs. He added that the sixes he hit to Sam Curran gave them the momentum going into the final over but also admitted that he wanted to finish the game which he he failed to do.

"Yes, definitely. We thought about it. The ball was gripping a bit. They missed their lengths. Just hung in there to get 30 off the last 2 overs and happy that we got over the line. Not too sure. I flicked one for the maximum. Those two sixes gave us the momentum and there was chaos in the end with me being run out,"

Russell said that he was confident of Rinku Singh and his finishing abilities. The big man from the Caribbean also added that he gets goosebumps seeing Rinku doing great stuff this season. He mentioned that Rinku is an honest and funny guy and he is pretty close to the young left-hander and he is feeling happy for him.

"Rinku our finisher was there and I have confidence in him. I wanted him to be on strike and happy that he took over the line. Oh, man, I get goosebumps seeing what Rinku is doing. I have back up at the back end. He has so much to give, honest and funniest guy in the team. I am very close to him and we are very good friends. Definitely feeling good."

KKR will now play their next game against Rajasthan Royals on 11th of May at the iconic Eden Gardens again.
