The Bangladesh Premier League has always been the goldmine for Bangladesh as a cricketing country to unearth raw talents from the mega domestic league. However, Nasum Ahmed, the Bangladesh spin veteran have weaved up a magic in the ongoing BPL 2025-26 tournament to etch his name in the list of the best bowling figures in BPL history.
While Nasum Ahmed boasts an all time best of 4/10 in T20s, his recent heroics stands tall beside names like Taskin Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf. Let’s take a look at the full list of these heroic spells.
5) Nasum Ahmed - 5/7 vs Noakhali Express
Playing for the Sylhet Titans, Nasum Ahmed wreaked havoc on the top and lower middle order of Noakhali Express, during the January 5 match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
As Noakhali Express batted first, Ahmed provided early breakthroughs by dismissing Soumya Sarkar and Habibur Sohan early. He then ran through Mehedi Hasan Rana and cleaned up the tail, finishing with figures of 5/7. His spell saw Noakhali Express bundled out for a mere 61 in 14.2 overs.
4) Faheem Ashraf - 5/7 vs Sylhet Strikers
Faheem Ashraf, the talented Pakistan all-rounder, proved to be a nightmare for the Sylhet Strikers back in 2025. Playing at Mirpur for Fortune Barishal, Ashraf removed opener Rony Talukdar early and continued his onslaught by dismissing Kadeem, Nahidul Islam and Ariful Haque, among others.
Faheem Ashraf finished with remarkable figures of 5 for 7 in just 3.1 overs, conceding only seven runs without bowling a single extra. Ashraf’s devastating spell helped bundle out the Strikers for 116, as Barishal went on to win the match comfortably by eight wickets.
3) Mohammad Sami - 5/6 vs Dhaka Gladiators
Mohammad Sami, the veteran right-arm pacer of Pakistan, produced a searing spell to register figures of 5 for 6 during the 2012 Bangladesh Premier League. Playing against the Dhaka Gladiators, Sami struck first by dismissing Azhar Mahmood and then removed big names such as Kieron Pollard, Ashraful and Anamul Haque, among others.
Sami's brilliant performance earned him the Player of the Match award, as the Gladiators were bundled out for 116 runs. Duronto Rajshahi then completed the chase with three balls and three wickets to spare. Sami was equally economical during his spell, conceding just six runs in 3.2 overs and bowling only one wide.
2) Mohammad Amir - 6/17 vs Rajshahi Royals
Mohammad Amir, another Pakistan fast bowler, features second on the list of the best bowling figures in the BPL with a stunning 6 for 17. Playing for the Khulna Tigers in 2020, Amir cracked open the Rajshahi Royals’ batting line-up from the very start.
Mohammad Amir tore through key partnerships and decimated the middle order, leaving little resistance during the chase. Among his notable victims were Litton Das, Afif Hossain and Andre Russell. Amir’s four-over spell included no wide deliveries, during which he conceded only three boundaries and maintained an impressive economy rate of 4.25.
1) Taskin Ahmed - 7/19 vs Dhaka Capital
Taskin Ahmed, Bangladesh’s ace pace bowler, holds the record for the best bowling figures in BPL history with a remarkable 7/19 against Dhaka Capital. Playing at Mirpur, Taskin produced one of the finest spells of his franchise career.
Litton Das, Tanzid Hasan and Shahadat Hossain were among his key scalps, as Taskin stood out as the lone warrior in the bowling attack, with only Mohor Sheikh and Hasan Murad chipping in with one wicket each.
Despite Taskin’s impact, Dhaka Capital managed to post 174 runs in their 20 overs. Darbar Rajshahi then chased down the target inside 18.1 overs, winning the match with seven wickets in hand.
