The much-awaited Ashes Series 2025‑26 between the Australia national cricket team and the England national cricket team gets underway in Perth on November 21, 2025, setting the stage for one of cricket's most intense rivalries. England, who haven't won the Ashes Down Under since 2011, arrive looking to upset the hosts.

Given the ageing Australian side faces uncertainty in its batting lineup and injuries to key bowlers, the Ben Stokes-led England squad have a chance.

Benjamin Andrew Stokes is all set to lead the England Cricket Team in the upcoming Ashes 2025-26 series on the Australian soil. Known for his aggressive style of play, Ben Stokes was officially named England's Test captain on April 28, 2022, succeeding Joe Root, with his first match in charge against New Zealand in June 2022.

Now the cricketer stands on the verge of a historical Ashes series.

Only five captains — Andrew Strauss (2010-11), Mike Gatting (1986-87), Mike Brearley (1978-79), Ray Illingworth (1970-71) and Len Hutton (1954-55) — have led England to victory in Australia since the Second World War. If Stokes manages to clinch a series victory for England, he could rewrite history.
