The Australian side have announced their Test squad for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series Vs India, starting on November 22. While all the big names feature in the team, the selectors sprung a surprise by naming Queensland star, Nathan McSweeney in the side.
When David Warner, the former Test opener retired from international cricket, it left a huge void as Australia had no proper option to replace him in that slot. As a result, they promoted Steve Smith, but the decision failed as the number 4 batter couldn't delivered the goods and asked the team management to put him back to his usual position.
Hence, the opening slot was once again left wide open, but this time, the selectors had McSweeney in their minds as they announced the squad for the 5-match series.
