Australia A have clinched the first unofficial Test against India A at the Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay with their captain Nathan McSweeney and Beau Webster guiding the run-chase with perfection. Australia A needed 225 to win in the final innings of the Test and though they lost three wickets on Day 3, Nathan McSweeney and Beau Webster kept their cool and scored unbeaten fifties to ensure a comfortable win by seven wickets for the home side.

The skipper Nathan McSweeney stayed unbeaten on 88 off 178 balls while Beau Webster scored unbeaten 61 off 117 balls.

The India-A team fought hard after a poor batting performance in the first innings. They were bowled out for 107 on the opening day and were always behind the 8-ball since then. Aussies got a decent lead of 88 runs at the end of the first innings and though Sai Sudharsan scored a century and Padikkal hit 88, rest of the Indian batters faltered and Aussies were set a target of 225. It did not prove enough in the end and they now have taken a 1-0 lead in this two-match series.
