Babar Azam has been at the centre of criticism in the recent past and he gave away his white-ball captaincy couple of months back. Mohammad Rizwan is now their white-ball skipper and Pakistan are back on track with a historic ODI series win on Australian soil. They have registered a ODI series win in Australia after 22 years and it has been a brilliant comeback after losing the first match.
Pakistan Register Comprehensive 8-Wicket Win
Pakistan won the second match by nine wickets while they won the final game in Perth by eight wickets and in both the games, it was Babar Azam who finished things off in style. In the second match, he finished the game with a six and now in the third ODI, he finished things with a powerful one-bounce four.
It was a fifth delivery of the 27th over and Adam Zampa bowled a full toss. Babar Azam danced down the track and pumped it almost over long on, as the ball bounced just infront of ropes and went over the line. He stayed unbeaten on 28 while Rizwan played an unbeaten knock of 30 as both the batters celebrated with their hands up in the air and warm hug.
The win was setup by another dominating performance by their bowlers. Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah picked three wickets apiece while Haris Rauf grabbed two wickets. Australia were shot down for just 140 and Pakistan openers then started brilliantly with 84-run stand, putting the match well away from the grasp of the home team. Babar and Rizwan then finished things off quickly and the focus will now shift to T20I series which will start on 14th of Novemer at the Gabba.
