Batting great Virat Kohli will be a huge miss for Team India ahead of the second Test of the marquee five-match series against England, starting Friday (February 2) in Visakhapatnam.

The modern-day legend had been in tremendous form in South Africa before opted out of the first two Tests against England citing "personal reasons" and would've been a priceless asset in India's quest to level the series 1-1 after the shocking defeat in Hyderabad.

Kohli also has great memories of playing in Vizag and dominated the last time the two countries collided in the coastal city of Andhra Pradesh. The instance goes back to England's 2016 tour of India when Kohli led his troops from the front and clinched a fantastic win over the tourists.

When Kohli Won 'Player Of The Match' In Vizag Test

After a fighting draw in Rajkot had boosted underdogs England's confidence, it took a Kohli classic for India to crush their spirits again in the second Test as the great right-hander came up with an exceptional knock of 167 in the first-innings and elevated India's score to a daunting 455 on a dry turning pitch.

As premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin once again unveiled his magic to bag a fifer and helped India to take a sizeable lead of 200 runs, Kohli brought his greatness to the fore one more time and produced arguably his most skillful effort of a prolific series, an innings of 81 in the third-innings team total of 204.

When the surface had worsened to a significant degree and the next best score was just 27, Kohli exhibited his class and range against quality bowling and nearly produced another century to his name. India then clinched a massive 246-run win with their skipper rewarded with a 'Player of the Match' for his great performance.
