One of the most talented and promising cricketers in recent times has been Australian all-rounder Cameron Green.

As revealed by 7Cricket, Green has a chronic kidney disease, which has already reached the second stage. There are five stages to a kidney disease, with the fifth stage requiring either a transplant or regular dialysis. The 24-year-old was born with a kidney disorder, which causes the said organ to not filter the blood.

In the video, Green's parents could be seen talking about how the all-rounder's life expectancy could not reach beyond 12 and how at birth he was put in an incubator for further operations.

Green talked about how he dealt with growing up with the health disorder and how he has been on a strict diet ever since.

The former Mumbai Indians (MI) further revealed how his kidneys created a bit of trouble during a match against New Zealand at Cairns, where the player suffered a cramp because of lack of hydration.

Green also revealed that apart from the coaching staff and Australian teammates, not many people knew about the player's struggle with kidney disease.

In his short career, Green has played 24 Tests, 23 ODIs, and 8 T20Is, amassing 1,656 runs and picking up 51 wickets, combined since 2020.

The player has been benched for Australia's ongoing first Test against Pakistan at Perth, despite playing in the four-day tour match for Prime Ministers XI against the same opponent last week.
