Ongoing India's tour of South Africa has not started well for the visitors, where the first T20I got called off due to rain, the second encounter last evening also witnessed rain play a massive part in the outcome.

India despite scoring 180 for 7 in 19.3 overs, found themselves defending 151 in 15 overs under conditions that were not easy for a spin-dependent side, where the hosts prevailed by five wickets (DLS method) and took a 1-0 lead.

Former South Africa pacer Dale Steyn stated that India could have been in the match, if not for conditions that became challenging as the match progressed, where the Proteas found hitting boundaries easy during the second half.

As quoted by India Today, Steyn stated how Team India should not delve much into the loss, and gear up for the third and final match.

Here's what Steyn said

"India bowled really well. They were unlucky at times. They had fielders in the right places. You saw having a second slip that showed you that the ball was doing a little bit. Um, but it's the boundaries, you know, and and and these conditions when the field is a little bit wet and that little bit of dew, it's not dew, but they're in the rain comes down, it makes the ball a little bit skid on and everything, that does make batting a little bit easier."

"So at the end of the day, when you look back at India probably got the wrong end of the stick. They lost the toss and then they had the ball in the more difficult conditions. It's not a game that they can really delve deep into and say we lost it here, we lost it there."

The third and final T20I of the three-match series will be played on December 14 at Johannesburg.
