Prasidh Krishna Joins Jasprit Bumrah And Irfan Pathan In An Elite List After Hat-Trick In SA

After losing the World Cup and winning the bilateral series against Australia, India are all set to face South Africa across all three formats. India are, currently playing South Africa in the T20I series, whereas India A are playing Test series.

In the first unofficial Test, India A faced a tough day on the second day. However, an India A bowler joined the elite list with his famous hattrick. After facing hard times in the T20 series against Australia, Prasidh Krishna picked up a hattrick to dismantle South Africa A’s batting line up. From 309 for the loss of five wickets, South Africa A were bundled out for 319 owing to Prasidh Krishna’s hattrick.

At Potchefstroom, after the first day getting rained out, on the second day, South Africa reached 298 at the loss of five wickets. When it looked like South Africa A were going for a big score, Prasidh Krishna picked up a hattrick to dismantle the score to 319.

Prasidh Krishna picked the wickets of overnight centurion Jean du Plessis, Eathan Bosch, Kurtlyn Mannikam, Siya Plaatije, and M Odirile to achieve the feat. With this five wicket haul, he became the first Indian to achieve the feat in first class cricket.

Alongside this, Prasidh Krishna also became the sixth bowler to pick up a five wicket haul overseas. He has joined the list of CS Nayudu, CR Rangachari, Irfan Pathan, Ramesh Divecha, and Jasprit Bumrah.

India are all set to play South Africa in the series decided after being 1-0 down. India lost to South Africa in the second T20 after the first T20 was washed out. Batting first, India scored 180 for the loss of seven wickets with three deliveries to go. With a reduced target of 152 from 15 overs, South Africa chased down with ease, with seven deliveries to spare.
