When 'Birthday Boy Rahul Dravid' Was Named As The Sexiest Sportsman In India

Apart from being one of the greatest batters, captain, wicket-keepers, and humble human being, who knew that Rahul Dravid was once named as the sexiest sportsman in India until Gaurav Kapoor reminded everyone on his show 'Breakfast with Champions'. 

As 11th January 2024 marks Rahul Dravid's 51st birthday, let's take you to the time when the presenter Gaurav Kapoor revealed Dravid's greatest achievement, the guy who did everything for the team, from keeping the wickets to leading the team in the World Cup 2007.

Four years back, Gaurav Kapoor invited Rahul Dravid to his show 'Breakfast With Champions' and revealed some unheard stories about him, one of them being that Rahul Dravid was named the sexiest sportsman in India in the year 2005. The fact that Rahul Dravid himself did not know this, makes the story a bit more interesting. 

Back in 2005, India had the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar, but who knew that one of the most humble cricketers, Dravid, would beat Yuvraj Singh, who was nothing short of a fashion icon and became the sexiest sportsperson in India. 


When Gaurav Kapoor confronted Rahul about being named the sexiest sportsman in India, he also asked him about his greatest achievement, whether it's the 10000 ODI runs or it's playing over 300 ODIs or beating the likes of Yuvraj Singh and becoming the sexiest sportsman, Dravid jokingly rated the latter as the greatest achievement and asked if he could get a certificate claiming that he has beaten Yuvraj Singh. 

Dravid is currently with the Indian team prepping for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 as the T20I series against Afghanistan begins today.
