Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, known as the 'Hitman,' recently opened up in an exclusive interview with OneCricket's correspondent. The question that echoed through the cricketing world was, "Why doesn't Rohit Sharma bowl anymore?"

Initially, Rohit Sharma was not a prolific batter but he began his career as a wily right-arm off-spinner. However, he stopped bowling as his batting rose through the ranks. With a record of 38 innings and 8 wickets in ODIs, his bowling, while not in the league of a specialist spinner, was undeniably useful. However, his days of contributing with the ball are a distant memory. The last sighting of Rohit Sharma bowling in an ODI was back in 2016, and since 2012, he has only bowled in four ODI games, a trend that extends across formats.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rohit's bowling appearances have also dwindled, with his last bowling spell in 2014, except for a brief exception where he bowled seven balls during the 2021 season.

However, amidst this bowling hiatus, there is a glimmer of hope for fans eager to see Rohit Sharma back in action with the ball. The Hitman has been diligently practicing his bowling in the nets, raising speculation that he might make a comeback as a bowler. This possibility is particularly exciting with the ODI World Cup 2023 just around the corner.
