As one can expect, his respect among Mumbai Indians' rising stars is just as palpable, as evidenced by a hilarious incident that unfurled during the 2021 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Ishan Kishan adjusts himself upon seeing Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin Tendulkar, who announced his retirement from all forms of the game in 2013, continues to mentor the Mumbai Indians team in IPL. The cricketer frequently attends team camps and dressing room meetings in a bid to boost the players' morale ahead of their crucial games.

Similarly, Tendulkar once attended the Mumbai Indians dressing room for a team meeting during the 2021 IPL season. Ishan Kishan, one of the younger members of the line-up, soon made his way to the dressing room casually while being unaware of Tendulkar's nearby presence.

As soon as Kishan took notice of the cricketing legend at the other corner, he instantly took off his glasses, adjusted his hair and proceeded to greet his senior with "Good afternoon, sir". Kishan's sudden change of demeanour incited a huge laugh riot among other members, particularly from Mumbai Indians veteran Kieron Pollard.

Ishan Kishan made his IPL debut for the Mumbai Indians in 2018, and he remains an integral franchise member. During his run under Rohit Sharma, the belligerent wicketkeeper-batsman made his Team India debut in 2021.

So far, the Jharkhand-based player has turned up for the Indian team in two Tests, 25 ODIs and 29 T20I matches.
