Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as the head coach of India and his bold and clear perspective on things are the talking points ahead of his maiden assignment against Sri Lanka. 

Also, there is a could of uncertainity over India travelling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025, and in such situation an old video has popped up where Gautam Gambhir is seen telling a TV news anchor that India should not play Pakistan. 

The then BJP MP stated that no cricket match is more important than the lives of the Indian soldiers who have fallen prey to cross-border terrorism promoted by Pakistan and unless that ends, India should not play Pakistan.
