Rohit Sharma will down as one of the finest to play cricket, but there was a time in his career, when he was struggling to perform consistently. His talent was never in doubt, but it was not reflecting on the cricket field, and it also brought criticism from media and fans. 

Now, an old video is going viral on social media where an Gambhir is seen talking about youngsters with an AajTak journalist in 2012. Gambhir mentions that it is not easy to take position of seniors and one has to deliver consistently, but goes onto add that there are some talented players in the team who will take the mantle forward.

He goes onto talk about Rohit Sharma's talent to which journalist interrupts by saying that he is a talented cricketer, but does not perform and seems to be more focussed on things outside of cricket. Gambhir though defends Rohit Sharma and states that he saw Rohit on India's tour of Australia in 2012 and he was quite focused.

He then shows faith on Rohit Sharma by adding that though the right-handed batter has not delivered to his billing, he would come good eventually and do lot of great things for India.
