Sairaj Bahutule To Join Gautam Gambhir As India’s Bowling Coach During Sri Lanka Tour

Sairaj Bahutule, who was associated with the National Cricket Academy (NCA), will join Team India as their bowling coach in Sri Lanka.

Bahutule, 51, will be the interim coach for six limited-over matches (three ODIs and three T20Is), after which Morne Morkel will join as a full-time person for the same role, reported Cricbuzz.


Bahutule Joins Nayar, Ryan ten Doeschate

Bahutule will join Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate, who will work as Gambhir’s assistant coaches in Sri Lanka. T Dilip, who was India’s fielding coach under Rahul Dravid, will also be there.

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made a temporary arrangement, appointing Sairaj Bahutule, associated with the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, to serve as the interim bowling coach for the six-match white-ball series in the island nation," the Cricbuzz report read.

Bahutule coached Kerala and Bengal earlier, during 2014-15. After that, he became the spin bowling coach for Rajasthan Royals before joining Gujarat at the domestic level. He was also the bowling coach of India A when they toured South Africa in 2021.

After that, he was appointed as the spin bowling coach at the NCA, and has been doing his duty since then.
