Another upcoming talent from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Vivrant Sharma has been in the reckoning for a while considering his explosive batting at the top of the order opening the innings for his state.

Bought at a price of ₹2.6 Crore in the auction last year by the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH), Vivrant was previously the net bowler for the franchise.

Helped by his teammates Abdul Samad and Umran Malik, Sharma is also known to bowl leg-break and deceive batters with his handy googlies.

How much domestic cricket has he played?

Featuring in 7 First-Class matches, 14 List-A matches and 9 T20Is, the left-hander has smacked six half-centuries and a century in total with 15 wickets to his name. Also, in the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he racked up 128 runs at a strike rate of 145 in just four games.

After his selection in the SunRisers, the all-rounder said

"It's a great feeling. It is an important season for me. I had a good T20 Mushtaq Ali tournament, then did well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, also performed well at the IPL trials, it feels good to be picked."

Interestingly, Vivrant used to bat as a right-hander till the sixth standard but learning from his elder brother Vikrant, he shifted to the left-hander stance.

Being a Yuvraj Singh superfan, he hopes to replicate his success for his IPL and stateside in future.
