In a remarkable turn of events, promising Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has breached the 1000-run mark in the Indian Premier League. Jaiswal, who opens for Rajasthan Royals,  unlocked the phenomenal feat during his side's ongoing IPL encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Notably, the stylish player from Mumbai became only the eight batter to score 1000 runs for the Royals in the history of the tournament. In this process, he surpassed legendary all-rounder Yusuf Pathan in terms of the most runs for the inaugural champions in IPL.

Hailed for his hard work and nonchalant stroke play, Jaiswal grabbed a million eyeballs through a string of stellar individual performances in the 2020 under-19 World Cup. His heroics in the showpiece event earned him his maiden IPL call-up, as he was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 auction.

Despite being talented, Jaiswal blew hot and cold in his first three seasons, managing only 547 runs at a modest average of 23.78. However, the Royals management's decision to back him to the hilt eventually paid rich dividends, as he showcased his excellence in the IPL 2023, playing some outrageous knocks at the top against high-quality bowling attacks.

After ensuring a solid start for his side, the southpaw departed for an 18-ball 35, studded with five fours and two sixes. As of writing, RR are 61 for 1, with Jos Buttler and skipper Sanju Samson batting on 14* and 6*, respectively.
