Virat Kohli, representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), once refused a double run to his partner Marcus Stonis to achieve his century. In 2019, during a match against KKR, Kohli continued to score 100 off 58 balls.

The IPL has witnessed several intense and dramatic moments over the years, but one such incident in IPL 2019 caught the attention of fans when Virat Kohli seemingly denied Marcus Stoinis a double-run to complete his own personal milestone.

The moment left many fans bewildered as they didn’t expect such actions from the great batter.

Virat Kohli Once Played For His Personal Milestone In IPL

This incident took place on April 19, 2019, when RCB faced KKR at Eden Gardens. Batting first, RCB had a slow start, but Kohli and Moeen Ali turned things around with a brutal counterattack.

Virat Kohli, after a careful first half of his innings, upped the pace wonderfully well, taking RCB to a commanding total. In the last overs of the innings, Kohli was settled at 96, and four more runs would get him a hundred.

In the final over, Kohli played a shot that presented an opportunity for a second run. Stoinis, who was at the non-striker’s end, was keen to take two runs, but Kohli signalled against it and settled for a single.

This single brought Kohli back on strike. He slammed a boundary off the following over to finish his IPL century. The occasion was greeted with joy by Kohli, but it also raised debate among fans about whether he prioritised his century over additional runs for the team.

RCB finished with a mammoth 213/4, thanks to Kohli’s hundred and Moeen Ali’s quickfire 66.

KKR, in turn, came near with late explosions by Andre Russell (65) and Nitish Rana (85*) but fell short by 10 runs in the end, resulting in a heart-breaking defeat.
