The IPL 2025 has kicked off in style with the high-octane match between Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Virat Kohli, the poster boy of RCB has shown the world his class in this game while batting the second innings. 

Notably, Rajat Patidar won the toss ahead of the game and put KKR to bat ahead of the game. The home team had a great start to their innings but faltered mid-way and ended up scoring 174/8 at the end of their 20 overs.

In reply, RCB openers, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli came out all guns blazing. In the fifth over of the chase, the Indian batter showed the class he carried against Spencer Johnson.

Kohli Represents Class, Elegance And Destruction

On the first two deliveries of the over, the Indian maestro slammed to high-quality maximums. The first ball was a full pitched delivery at the off stump line. Kohli planted his front foot out and lofted it straight over the long-off fence for a maximum. This was followed by a similar delivery and the result was much of the same.

Virat Kohli has often been called out by his critics for being a bit too slow in the T20 format. These two shots and the start Kohli has got in the game is a signal for his critics to stop talking. The Kohli fans will hope that his form continues throughout the tournament and RCB is able to remove their jinx of winning the coveted trophy.
