KKR have been struggling with their opening stand so far this season but against RCB at M. Chinnaswamy, they have started off with a bang, courtesy some belligerent hitting by Jason Roy. The Englishman has smashed a fifty in just 22 balls and has notched up his second fifty in a row after a powerful fifty against CSK.

Roy was positive from the outset as N Jagadeesan at the other end batted with caution. It was however, in the final over of the Powerplay, that Roy unleashed his best and smashed four sixes in an over. At the time of writing, KKR are 69-0 in the 8th over and this is their highest opening stand in IPL 2023.

KKR ended with 66 in the Powerplay which is their highest Powerplay total this season. Siraj, the man who has regularly got wickets in the Powerplay for RCB could not find a breakthrough and that can haunt RCB now as KKR have plenty of batting to follow at this belter of a track at M. Chinnaswamy. However, N Jagadeesan at the other also needs to get going as KKR would need at least 200 on this pitch.
