Normally, Babar Azam is a cool and calculative person, but there have been times when he has lost his cool, especially during his captaincy days in Pakistan Super League (PSL). Several former players, who have either coached or played under Babar, have reported that the former Test skipper has attitude issues, and is stubborn with his decision-making.
While he has been involved in arguments with teammate, Shaheen Afridi, one of his famous altercation dates back to 2022, when he was playing for the Karachi Kings in PSL. After his heroics in the T20 World Cup in 2021, it was expected that Babar Azam would continue the same form in the PSL as well.

However, it seems as if the captaincy burden took a toll on his mind. His team, Karachi Kings lost 8 matches in a row and became the first team to crash out of the tournament. During one of the matches against Multan Sultans, Babar was seen having an heated discussion with the team's President and former Pakistan cricketer, Wasim Akram.
A video went viral during the PSL 2022 season, and it could be observed that Babar was getting scolded by Akram and the Karachi Kings skipper, too, had an animated look on his face.
However, Wasim Akram came forward after the incident, and clarified the situation, stating that he wasn't scolding Babar, but was asking him why aren't the bowlers bowling slower balls?. Though, by the looks of it, it looked as if Babar was getting the scolding of his life.
Babar honing his skills in Champions Cup 2024
After a disastrous series against Bangladesh, where he just accumulated 64 runs in 4 innings, Babar Azam is currently playing in the Pakistan ODI championd Cup.
He is playing for the Stallions and has had a great start to the tournament. In one of the matches, he smacked Shahnawaz Dahani for five fours in a row, showcasing his skills and getting some form back ahead of the England Test series.
