India and Kolkata Knight Riders' fiery pacer Umesh Yadav has been terrific in the past with his high-quality skills. The right-armer has been used primarily in the powerplay because his abilities are at peak with the new ball.

However, the Vidarbha pacer has largely been ineffective this season with just one wicket in three matches at an economy rate of 7.56.

This concern was addressed by Yadav himself before the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad where he mentioned that so far he hasn't performed upto the mark as the management expects him to pick wickets in the first six overs.

Moreover, the 35-years-old said that he has maintained a decent economy rate which is good but a few wickets would have helped his cause a lot better. But according to him , he did that successfully last season but hasn't been to replicate the same since.

"I feel that my bowling is going okay-ish so far. But I guess I am unable to stand to the expectations of the team management that wants me to bowl in the powerplay alongside picking wickets. The wickets column have been empty and hence, I want to make it work a bit.

"Overs wise I am okay performing for the team like I have been bowling two overs for 10 runs or two overs for 12 runs but a couple of wickets along with that would have been great. I am trying really hard to get wickets in the powerplay which I did consistently in the last season and haven't been able to replicate the same in the previous three games with the new ball."

Umesh Yadav, is currently facing SRH at Eden Gardens, Kolkata where he bowled the first over for 14 runs.
