For the IPL 2023 clash between Kolkata and Hyderabad at Eden Gardens, the latter have made a bold change to their Playing XI, despite winning their last game against Punjab Kings. Sunriser Hyderabad, who have been struggling with their batting, have swapped Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar with the opening batter Abhishek Sharma.

Just like Sundar, Sharma too is an all-rounder; however, he is a bit of a batting all-rounder, with left-arm spin being his second forte. Meanwhile, bringing in the Punjab all-rounder would be a sharp call as he would provide the left-right dimension to the Sunrisers.

On the flip side, Kolkata have opted for the same team, which was responsible for the heist against the defending champions, Gujarat Titans.

The young Punjab cricketer was a part of SRH's core ahead of the ongoing IPL season, but a loss against Rajasthan saw him getting out of favour.

Sundar, on the other hand, has been out of knick thus far in the tournament, going wicketless in all three matches and not contributing much to the scorer's board.

But, fortunately for him, the Hyderabad team have kept him in the Impact Player Substitutes alongside Vivrant Sharma, Abdul Samad, Glenn Phillips, and Mayank Dagar.

Meanwhile, KKR have picked Venkatesh Iyer, David Weise, Anukul Roy, Mandeep Singh and Kulwant Khejroliya as their subs.

The home captain Nitish Rana has won the toss against SRH and has invited the visitors to bat first at Eden Gardens.
