Shaik Rasheed grabbed a lot of eyeballs when he took a controversial yet incredible catch of Jitesh Sharma near the ropes to bring CSK back in crunch penultimate over of the game. He took a backward running stunning catch just some distance away from ropes but slipped as he grabbed the ball and just about managed to keep his body away from the ropes.

Who is Shaik Rasheed?

Shaik Rasheed is a right-handed classy batter who bats at the top of the order and is known for his solid technique and temperament. He started his cricketing journey from Dilsukhnagar in Hyderabad and also played for Sportive Cricket Club in the HCA League. H However his shift to Guntur became a game-changer and soon young Shaik Rasheed started rising swiftly through the ranks in junior cricket.

What was the turning point for Shaik Rasheed?

Shaik Rasheed first came into limelight when he was named as Indian team's vice-captain for the U-19 World Cup 2022. He suffered from Covid-19 at the start of the World Cup but came back strongly in the semi-final against Australia-19 with a brilliant 94 batting at number 3.  He followed it up with a fifty in the final of that World Cup against England. 

Those performances got him into the list of one of the most talented upcoming talents and soon he made his first-class debut for Andhra Pradesh in the 2022-23 domestic season. He has played across formats for Andhra Pradesh now and we can expect him to grabbed more eyeballs in future with his classy batting.

Shaik Rasheed's IPL Price

CSK spotted his talent and decided to give the young man an opportunity in IPL 2023 when he was selected in the auction at his base price - 20 Lakhs INR. He has not yet got an opportunity in the playing XI for CSK but made his contribution with a brilliant catch under pressure against Punjab Kings.
