RCB Recent Recruit Rewarded as NZ Reveals Annual Award Winners List

After some incredible performances throughout the past year, New Zealand players have won big in the annual New Zealand Cricket Awards ceremony.

Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder Michael Bracewell who was fabulous with both bat and ball for New Zealand is announced as the men's ODI player of the year due to the fact that he thumped two centuries, one against Ireland and other against India along with bagging 14 wickets through his off-spin.

Sunrisers Hyderabad's Glenn Phillips for his wonderful show in the T20 World Cup 2022 is named the men's T20I player of the year, as he struck 740 runs in the format in the past season.

All-rounder Daryl Mitchell has been awarded the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal which in other terms means Men's cricketer of the year. On the other hand, Amelia Kerr, the star for the White Ferns with both bat and ball has been recognised with Debbie Hockley Medal, which is presented to Women's player of the year.

Mitchell was given the prize for scoring 913 runs in Test cricket while averaging 70.23 as he managed a cumulative of 1,338 runs across formats in the year 2022.

Kerr was fabulous with both bat and ball picking up 17 wickets while amassing 423 runs in T20I cricket. Further, in ODI cricket, she averaged 40.66 with the bat.

Talking about the other awardees, Suzie Bates has been given the women’s ODI Player of the Year for performing brilliantly against West Indies and Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, wicket-keeper batter Tom Blundell is felicitated with Test player of the year after he smashed 849 runs while affecting 38 dismissals this season.
