After a 10-wicket loss over India in the second ODI match, Australia have been praised by many experts and legends for their comeback in the series after losing the first game of series.

More importantly, the credit has been given to the stand-in skipper Steve Smith for his exuberant leadership qualities along with some high-quality tactics being employed on the field.

It is to be noted that Smith was appointed as the skipper after regular captain Pat Cummins went home following the passing of his mother.

However, former Australian cricketer and legend Shane Watson has cleared that he doesn't want to see Smith captaining the side in future as Cummins did an incredible job in the past.

Further, according to him, there is no question of Smith captaining the side in future as there's not much left for him to play.

"No Steve shouldn't be leading the Aussie side again as Pat Cummins is doing good. He is doing a great job as a great leader. No question Steve Smith should lead the team."

Going further back, it should be reminded that Smith was sacked as the Australian skipper back in 2018 following the Sandpaper Gate scandal that rocked the entire cricketing circle.

Coming back to the series, Australia will look to end the series on a high on the 22nd of March when they face India in the 3rd ODI in Chennai.
