With just months left for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are still pondering over the exact venues and dates for the mega-event.

However, the discussions are on with the stakeholders and senior executives involved from the two parties as they shortlisted 12 venues along with dates of the opening match and finals.

It should be informed that the World Cup will be 48 game affair which will run for about 46 days beginning on 5th of October and ending on 19th November, as informed by the ESPNCricinfo.

Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot and Mumbai are being seen as the potential venues for the event along with Ahmedabad which is slated to host the finals of the pinnacle tournament.

Adding to this, the destinations for warm-ups are still not decided which, in all probability, will be around two to three cities.

The delay in announcing the venues is because of the challenge faced by both bodies regarding the monsoon season that will be running at different times in different parts of the country.

Another issue between them is the tax exemption and clearance of visas for Pakistani players from the Indian Government before the World Cup.

The tax exemption has been a major concern among the ICC and BCCI which previously occurred during the 2016 T20 World Cup that happened in India.

Apart from that, the Indian board has confirmed that they would be providing visas to all Pakistani players without any hassle.
