New Zealand batter Kane Williamson on Thursday became the first Kiwi batter to score five double tons in the longest format. He eclipsed Brendon McCullum, who had scored four double-hundreds. 

Williamson achieved this unique feat in the ongoing Test match against Pakistan at Karachi. Batting first, Pakistan managed to post 438 on the board, with a top contribution of 161 from Babar Azam. 

Chasing a stiff score, New Zealand openers were calculative with their approach to steer the team in a proficient fashion. Tom Latham hit 113, while Conway scored 92, which already put visitors on the front seat. 

Then, Williamson made good use of the missed stumping chances to stitch quality partnerships with lower middle-order and tail-enders. The 32-year-old reached remained unbeaten on 200 off 395 balls, which resulted in New Zealand declaring on mammoth score of 612. 

Reflecting on his performances, Williamson reckoned that all batters, especially Ish Sodhi (65), was impressive to stay with him, which helped the Kiwi team to dominate the Test match. He added that New Zealand would look to utilize the surface well to dismiss Pakistan batters on the final day. 

"It was nice to be out here, being a part of number of partnerships, which were valuable in getting us a competitive total. It has put us in a reasonable position, but we know there is a lot of hard work to do. We will try to utilize the assistance of surface as much as we can."

It will certainly be a challenge for the Pakistan, who are at 77/2, and are still trailing by 97 runs to save the Test match. The skipper Tim Southee will be key to New Zealand's chances on Day 5.
