In the ongoing second match between India and England at the YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, India's young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed his maiden Test century at home, living upto the expectations of many fans and experts alike.

Concurrently, an old Instagram post from March 2020 by Jaiswal has been circulating on the internet, gaining attention due to a comment from Indian captain and Jaiswal’s opening partner, Rohit Sharma.

When Rohit predicted Jaiswal's future

In the comment, Rohit Sharma predicted Yashasvi as the 'Next superstar' of Indian cricket. Two years later, Yashasvi is validating Rohit’s foresight, showcasing an impressive performance. The camaraderie between the two players is evident, with Jaiswal displaying his skills in front of his captain, living up to the high expectations set for him.

Like his prediction of Jaiswal, Rohit also foresaw a bright future for Suryakumar Yadav, who is currently excelling in the T20 format.

In his sixth Test, Jaiswal surpassed 500 runs with an average of over 50. This marked his fourth 50-plus score in India whites. Reaching the three-figure mark in just 151 balls, Jaiswal's innings demonstrated a masterclass in aggressive yet calculated batting. His fearless approach was evident when he confidently dispatched Tom Hartley for a maximum after completing his hundred, eventually surpassing 150. This time he would like to get to his maiden double hundred in Vizag.

Notably, Jaiswal missed a hundred in the series opener, scoring 80 in India's first innings. This marked his second century in the format, and on both occasions, he surpassed 150, showcasing his ability to score big hundreds consistently.

A standout achievement is that Jaiswal became the first batter to score two centuries in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle. Jaiswal's consistent and powerful performances firmly establish him as the next 'big thing' the cricketing arena.

Moving forward, cricket fans can expect witnessing more of Jaiswal's batting masterclass across formats.
