Young batting sensation from South Africa, Dewald Brevis showcased an excellent return to form with a magnificent innings for MI Cape Town in their SA20 clash against Pretoria Capitals at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.

Brevis lit up SuperSport Park with jaw-dropping no-look six

Amidst the high-octane match held on Thursday, Dewald Brevis stole the limelight with a spectacular no-look six, a shot that not only brought up his half-century but also displayed his audacious talent and confidence at the crease.

Brevis, who had been under scrutiny following a series of modest scores in SA20 League 2024, walked to the crease with a determination to make an impact. He wasted no time in signalling his intentions, launching the second delivery he faced from pacer Daryn Dupavillon over the deep square leg boundary for a six.

However, it was in the 19th over that Brevis executed the most memorable shot of the match. Faced with a full-length delivery from Dupavillon, he audaciously lofted the ball over long-on for a six, all the while maintaining his gaze firmly towards the ground, in a stunning display of no-look brilliance.

This extraordinary shot not only took him past a 27-ball half-century but also left spectators and commentators alike in awe of his skill and flair.

Meanwhile, Brevis' innings of an unbeaten 66 runs off just 32 balls, striking at an impressive rate of 206.25, included six maximums and three boundaries. His performance was a cornerstone in MI Cape Town's formidable total of 248/4 in their 20 overs, setting a challenging target for the Pretoria Capitals.

This innings marked a significant turnaround for Brevis, who had previously managed only 75 runs in his last six innings, and firmly re-established his reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in the game.

Despite a valiant unbeaten hundred from Kyle Verreynne, the Capitals fell short of their target, ensuring a victory for MI Cape Town. While Verreynne's effort denied MI Cape Town a bonus point win, the day belonged to Brevis, whose no-look six will be remembered for a long time.
