Virat Kohli's legacy with Royal Challengers Bangalore extends beyond his on-field contributions; he has become synonymous with the franchise's identity and has played a pivotal role in shaping its journey in the IPL.

The former Indian cricket team captain has played for the franchise since the inaugural 2008 IPL. During his tenure with RCB, Kohli has not only been a prolific run-scorer but also a symbol of the team's spirit and determination.

In his time with the franchise, Kohli has scored 7263 runs in 237 matches at an average of 37.25.

When Virat Kohli Said He Was Approached By Different IPL Franchises In Past

Virat Kohli's journey with RCB  has been filled with remarkable achievements and some near-misses, notably the elusive IPL trophy.

Despite possessing a formidable team over the years, RCB has fallen short of clinching the title, often reaching the playoffs but unable to secure the ultimate victory.

In a chat with RCB in 2022 Virat Kohli was asked if he ever considered joining another franchise, thinking the 'grass was greener' on the other side, he answered in affirmative.

The 35-year-old cricketer, Virat Kohli revealed how multiple franchises approached him to put his name in the auction. But, he decided to remain loyal to the Bengaluru franchise.

"I won't take names but another franchise who I spoke to at the time... they were not even keen enough to listen to me. I was playing lower down the order at the time (5- 6). I was like, 'if I could get the opportunity to bat in the top of the order somewhere else... The same franchise, because I had played for India and performed in 2011, before the retention, came to me and said, 'can you please come to the auction?'

I said, 'no chance. I will always be with the franchise that backs me'," Kohli revealed.

Despite lucrative offers from other franchises, he chose to stay with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2024 squad for the 17th IPL edition, emphasizing his deep-rooted connection with the Bangalore-based team.
