During his time with the Mumbai Indians, Ishan Kishan was a formidable player to tackle. Opening the innings, the left-handed batter would bludgeon the opposition with his blade single-handedly.

Ishan Kishan Mocks CSK By Making The Chase One-Sided

Back in the year 2020, the Indian Premier League (IPL) was shifted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were up against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in match number 41.

Batting first, CSK were able to post 114 runs on the board for the loss of 9 wickets after playing their 20 overs, where Sam Curran played a saving 52-run knock, helping CSK get to a total that wasn't too embarrassing.

Doing most of the damage with the ball, Trent Boult picked up four crucial wickets, giving away just 18 runs on a wicket that was difficult to bat on.

However, the word "difficult" did not apply to MI's openers, who single-handedly took their side home in just 12.2 overs without losing a sweat. As they chased down the score without losing a wicket, with 10 wickets to spare.

Opener Quinton de Kock scored a decent 46 off 37 deliveries, remaining not out, while his opening partner Ishan Kishan was on the very next level, playing exactly the same 37 deliveries, but scoring a blistering 68* with six boundaries and five maximums to bat at a strike rate of 183.78 as he took MI home instantly, punishing CSK bowlers all around the park.

Following this, CSK could never recover and thus, crashed out of the IPL, ending their decade long legacy of making it to the playoffs.

Ishan Kishan Bosses IPL 2020, Takes MI To Back-To-Back Titles

In a season where Mumbai Indians dominated left, right, and centre, they went on to achieve back-to-back titles after previously winning in the 2019 IPL. A major part of their victory was due to opener Ishan Kishan, who had a breakthrough season, scoring 516 runs in 14 matches at an average of 57.33 while striking runs at 145.76.

During the season, he also played an excellent 99-run knock off 58 deliveries against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Mumbai later went on to win the season, beating Delhi Capitals in the final by five wickets, where Kishan scored 33* off 19 deliveries, batting at fourth position.
