Arjun Tendulkar made his much-awaited IPL debut this season in a high-scoring game against KKR. While the youngster bowled exceedingly well in Mumbai Indians’ win against the SRH in his next game, he was taken to cleaners by Punjab Kings’ batters in a high-scoring Wankhede thriller.

After his expensive spell against PBKS, the cricketer was trolled and subjected to severe criticism across social media. While some questioned Tendulkar’s inability of generating rapid pace, others mocked him for leaking 31 runs in an over.

Former Australian speedster Brett Lee, who shared a fierce rivalry with batting great Sachin Tendulkar during his playing days, has expressed some valuable advice for young Arjun.

Brett Lee defends Arjun Tendulkar against online hate

Australian speed gun Brett Lee has shared some advice for Arjun Tendulkar, after the latter was subjected to online criticism in regards to his speed and expensive spells.

Lee, who shared some fierce battles with Arjun’s father and all-time great Sachin Tendulkar, said that the ‘Master Blaster’ also went through a lean patch during his playing career. The World Cup-winning Australian backed the youngster to gain quicker pace in the coming time, because according to him the 23-year-old already possesses some wonderful skills with the ball.

“He is only 23 years of age and he has got his whole career ahead of him. My advice will be don't listen to critics. Like his dad had to go through like he misses out and gets a low score...you got to back yourself. He has got some wonderful skills. He can bowl at 140 kph so as soon as he gets comfortable bowling in the team environment.”

Lee also took a dig at online trolls for their criticism of the rising Mumbai Indians star. Labelling such social media users as “keyboard warriors”, he said:

“My advice would be to keep doing what you have been doing and don't listen to those people who are trying to have a go at him because remember most people who will criticize on social media have never bowled a ball in their life. They are keyboard warriors.”
