IPL 2023 | Predicted Playing XI of Royal Challengers Bangalore Against Kolkata Knight Riders

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have had a promising start to their Indian Premier League (IPL) season, winning four out of seven matches and earning eight points. In match 36 of the series, they will face Kolkata knight Riders once again, however this time at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Talking about the line-up, the top order of their batting line-up, consisting of Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell, has been in outstanding form, consistently scoring runs and leading the team to victories.

However, the middle and lower-order batting line-up is a worrying aspect for RCB. Additionally, apart from Siraj and new addition Parnell, the team's bowling department has been lacklustre.

Here's our Predicted RCB XI for their KKR clash:

Openers: Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis

RCB's batting performance this season has been largely dependent on the consistent performances of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis.

While Faf du Plessis plays the role of the aggressor and ace chaser, Kohli takes a more steady and calm approach. If even either one of the two remains at the crease until the end of the RCB innings, the chances of RCB's success multiply by a 10.

Although the rest of the team provides support and contributes to the total score. These two have collectively scored 684 runs in 7 innings till now. They are the strongest opening pair and a literal 'run machine duo' when they are in the best form.

Middle Order: Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik, Mahipal Lomror, Suyash Prabhudessai

This is where things have time and again taken a backseat for RCB, their middle-order. Apart from Glenn Maxwell, the middle order hasn't made much of a mark yet. Having scored, 253 runs in the 6 innings that he has played, Maxwell is currently the only one piggy-backing the entire middle-order of the team.

Dinesh Karthik hasn't had a great momentum so far, moreover even, Mahipal Lomror and Shahbaz Ahmed have failed to come up to their complete potential and are not doing a lot for the team.

This is the problematic section of the team that needs to pull up their socks and march on the field with the aim to perform better than their best.

Bowlers: Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Wayne Parnell/Josh Hazlewood, Mohammed Siraj

Miyan ji has been the standout performer in the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowling attack, having taken 13 wickets in seven matches this season, with four wickets in the game against Punjab Kings. Mohammed Siraj is on fire and there is no stopping now for the purple cap holder. Harshal Patel although in the last match against Rajasthan Royals took 3 wickets for 32 runs has not yet delivered a much expected breakthrough performance.

On the other hand, rest of the bowlers have not been able to create much impact on the opposition. Wanindu Hasaranga has been a run-hogger for the team. He has given out runs like a tap of water with no seeming end and the returns for the team haven't been too fruitful.

The team's bowling unit could receive a much-needed boost if Josh Hazlewood plays in the upcoming game against KKR, as he has been cleared to play.

Predicted Playing XI of Royal Challengers Bangalore:

Virat Kohli (C), Faf du Plessis, Mahipal Lomror, Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Wanindu Hasaranga, Suyash Prabhudessai, Harshal Patel, David Willey/Josh Hazlewood, Mohammed Siraj
